  CHAPTER 7: The Nature of the Gods: Dingir: Sumerian god Gods associated with heavens The term is spatial. In Sumer the term god had to do with location not essence. The gods are those beings that live in heaven (6 th dimension), not on earth (4 th dimension) where humans live. Primary attribute of gods is the superiority exalted over the mass of humanity, whether one that lives in heaven or human beings that exhibit superhuman strength whether as a hero or extraordinary wisdom of a sage. Gods differ from sage and hero by order of magnitude. The distinction between gods and hero/sage is essence or nature.   Gods are immortal Heros are human and mortal Sage and his wife attained/retained immortality and survived the Great Flood Gods have a place in heaven And the underworld   Gods possess the mysterious power of the “me” that combines divine authority and supernatural power.
